>> The final installment of Harsh Barge Tour updates: Large Marge: FOUND.

>> Pick up this limited edition, tre chic, Fourstar/Tokion jacket.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 20, 2001

>> Harsh Dallas photo gallery up now. Tommorow: the final entry from Vegas.

>> So far we've got some pretty decent entries to the Draw Scott Johnston contest. We'll probably pick a winner sometime in the new year, so that means you've still got a couple of weeks to enter. Keep in mind that the only way to win is to send in a drawing of Scott that we like and that no matter how broke you are, rules are rules. Any more paystub entries that we receive will be thrown into the Automatic Contest Loser Pile.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 19, 2001

>> More posters for you, and these ones are for real. Uh, wait a second... actually... these ones are kinda fake too. We made them to go along with the Mouse video in 1997. Download and print them out as posters or use them as your desktop wallpaper, okay?

>> AHEM! Mouse is included in the Girl/Choc box set - out now.

>> The Harsh Barge Tour is officially over. Final round of photos coming soon.

>> Tony Claus from e's came early this year and dropped off Menikmati DVD's in our stockings. They should be in stores soon, complete with 35 extra minutes o' footy.

>> Have you seen those new handboards from the same people who make fingerboards? What the hell? Does this mean we have to make another conversion kit?

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 18, 2001

>> Holy crap... look at all of those autographs! You definitely want to put in a bid on this poster we're selling.

>> "Meanwhile, Tom Green just recently signed on with the WB to create a half-hour variety show focusing on the wacky world of skateboarding." .... hmmm.

>> It's the last day of the Harsh Barge, and if you're lucky Biebel won't be hanging out with your sister.

>> We're cool because we get e-mail from skateboard and skaterock legend Steve Caballero:

"Just wanted to announce that The FACTION will be playing on Friday, Jan 25th at club USUAL in downtown San Jose. Mark your calendars! The show we played there over 6 months ago was sold out two weeks before the show happened, so get your tickets early... Hope you can make it and thanks for all your support. take care, CAB"

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 17, 2001

>> A harsh sideswiping of the tour van left "the Silver Bullet" reeling, but the Barge carries on. Photos from Iowa up now. Crash photos coming soon.

>> You may have already won the Draw Scott Johnston contest... but there's still time to enter if you haven't. What?

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 15, 2001

>> Keenan will be in our hearts forever. Still making waves on 411vm.com's clip of the week.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 14, 2001

>> APB NOTICE:
Oh man... somebody stole Fourstar Mike "Stacks" Leon's white 1987 Toyota longbed truck yesterday. Like Crimestoppers, we need your help in solving this senseless crime. Here's a description of what the person who stole it might look like, based on items that were in the vehicle at the time that it was jacked:

The culprit will most likely be wearing a Simon and Garfunkel t-shirt under a JCREW sweater that Mike's mom bought him last christmas. He'll be driving slow, bumpin' Bob Marley or Burt Bacharach on a new Alpine stereo that's worth more than the truck itself. It's not unlikely that the guilty party is an employee of Urban Outfitters as they have a history of theft.

>> Hey, that e-mail address for the Draw Scott Johnston contest was busted (say it out loud, like "that's BUS-ted. bro "), but it works now. Draw some drawings and then send those drawings to gimmieshoes@crailtap.com and you might take the cake.

CURRENT ENTRY> DECEMBER 13, 2001

>> This is happiness (10).

>> And this likeness of Chris Roberts by Sean Cassidy is pretty much dead on... except Chris almost always has a skateboard with him. And his arms are shorter. And he smiles a lot. But it's a likeness (or a caricature?) not a freakin' portrait. So relax, okay? Geez.

>>The barge is heading towards Oklahoma, y'all. Photos from the stop in Chicago are up now.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 12, 2001

>> Seeing as most of the team is on the road on the Harsh Barge, we decided to do dedicate today's update of Randoms to some of the people behind the scenes here:

> Girl sales staffers Carlos Guiterrez and Eric Anthony have been spending a lot of their spare time working as fashion models lately. These guys have the new look that you'll be seeing on all the runways this season in Milan, Paris, New York, and even Toronto. If you'd like to hire them for any shows, please contact the Girl Agency.

> Staci G is a woman about town, with a heart o' pure gold.

> In a gesture of good holiday will, Tony Larson took the entire art dump out for Larson's second annual Treat-the-Art-Dump-to-Cheap-Mexican-Food Day. It was tasty, and much appreciated. Thanks, Larson.

> Andy Jenkins, Andy Mueller and Mike Leon all had pieces in Gallery 222's group show that opened last Saturday. Here's Mike's piece. Mike once spent two hours in a Best Buy in Los Feliz playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater.

> Bob K was in a Best Buy the other day (not playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater) when he was approached by a ten year old kid who said "Hi. Nice Chomp wristbands". If you understand why that might have been a bit trippy you were most likely born before 1980.

> Monica in our production department would like you to know that if you ever get a flat tire while driving, you should pull over to the side of the road immediately. You shouldn't keep driving until your tire is completely wrecked. Don't learn this the hard way kids, follow Monica's friendly words of advice.

> Diamond's own Nick Tershay just got a new whip and it's hella tight. You can catch more of the Big Reeg at EMB4LIFE.com.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 11, 2001

>> Woah, this one makes us extra happy (part 9).

>> What? New addition to the flow team?

>> The King of EMB made an appearance on the barge in Cincinnati. Remember that Real Kelch board back in the day that was a copy of a James album cover... all bright pink and green with the flowers? That was an awesome board. And how about Kelly Bird's first graphic with the guy in the suit with his head in the clouds? Awesome, too.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 10, 2001

>> 13 scary video clips from the road.

>> Remember James Kelch (the "king of EMB")? We ran into him in Cincinnati. Photos coming soon.

>> Seemingly out of the blue, Liam Bishop had some boxes of his signature model ice cream sandwiches delivered here today. There's been rumors floating around that Andy Jenkins and Premium might be recording a collaboration single to be released on Ruby Republic Records this spring, so maybe that had something to do with it.

>> Are you gonna draw Scott Johnston or what?

CURRENT ENTRY> DECEMBER 9, 2001

>> This photo pretty much sums up the latest Harsh Barge update from the road:

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 7, 2001

>> Girl Distribution's Carlos Guiterrez (sometimes known is Lil' C and other times known as Guitarlos) has a band called The Real Diego. Curious as to what they sound like? Listen to the MP3. Curious as to how to get ahold of a CD or 7" record? Check the Crailstore.

>> Not only is Rick Howard a talented skateboarder, business-runner guy, Lakers cheerer on-er and ping pong player, but he's also an artist. Don't worry though; he's not allowed to enter the Draw Scott Johnston Contest, so you still have a pretty good chance of winning.

>> Slap a big smile on your face (happy things 8): Mr Peralta, slash.

>> Hey, check out the Maze Contest winners at Ohiogirl(.com), then go ahead and ask Andy Mueller what's up with his hair.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 6, 2001

>> Ahhhhhh, urethane... (happy part seven or something)

>> We just posted the "official" rules and regulations for the DRAW SCOTT JOHNSTON CONTEST. In a nutshell: draw Scoots and have a chance to win some shoes.

>> Who needs live updates from the Harsh Barge tour when you've got the Crailtap message board?:

Posted By: CASSANDRA AND CRISTINA
Subject: SOMEONE IS DREAMING OF YOU!
Message: HEY BEIBEL, JUST WANTED TO WRITE ANOTHER MESSAGE SAYING HI TO ALL OF YOU GUYS. HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE, REMEMBER THAT WE ARE WANTING TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS, SO KEEP IN TOUCH. CRISTINA "REALLY" WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU BEIBEL.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 3, 2001

>> Having trouble finding things to be happy about? Here you go (happy things part 6). Check the Vans colorways... damn!

>> The Barge is totally still plowing it's way through the states, dude. A ton more photos and more video clips tomorrow.

>> We tracked down that private indoor park up in Canada and the verdict is in: big thumbs up. Going to Vancouver? Ask somebody about the park by the skytrain station and make sure you're 19 if you want to skate.

McCrank and Tony Ferguson have both been seen ripping there, as well as Crail friends The Silver Crotch and Tyler Reid who busted his wrist clean in half yesterday on the miniramp. Ouch. Get well soon, Ty. And to the guy at the park who was laughing and thought it was cool that we had to leave because of the broken wrist: you're really lame and we're inviting you to either suck rocks or eat dirt... it's your choice.

>>In other bitterness-fueled news, Immigration loves Crailtap so much that they decided to extend our staffer's trip and keep us up in Canada for the next couple of days. It's snowing and it's cold and that rumor we fed you about Rick's mini coming down? It's true. But Canada still rules. The people and the scenery and the air and the food and everything are the best and the scene up here is amazing and that indoor park is one of the best things to happen to Vancouver skating since the Clubhouse way back in the day. And, and, and, and, and, and, and don't forget, there's plenty other things to be happy about, so chill out already.

PAST ENTRY> DECEMBER 1, 2001

>> Holy, it's already December. If it's snowing where you live you should either 1) skate that undergound parking lot by your house or 2) throw a fundraiser to make money to buy plywood for that indoor mini you've been talking about for so long or 3) sit around and complain about how you have nothing to skate.

>> Happy seventies snake run somewhere in England (part five in the this makes us happy something or others).

PAST ENTRY> NOVEMBER 29, 2001

>> "A massive vessel, this barge of the harshest proportions has been cutting swaths through a turbulant sea of the southern-most states, taking liberties lightly and leaving behind a crumbled wake of concrete block, spent griptape, gasoline fumes, and old socks on this, HB's most maiden of voyages.
Totally."

>> Dave Andrecht and Devo member Mark Mothersbaugh = Freedom of Choice video shoot... radical happy (part four).

>> There's a rumor floating around that McCrills might have to take his ramp down due to some bogus neighbors. To those neighbors, Crailtap would like to extend an extra loud "La-a-a-ame! Boooooo!" and two thumbs way down.

Did you ever see that movie called Delicatessen? In it there's like these weird, really ignorant group of dudes that live underground who somehow manage to organize themselves to try and take over this run down old apartment building where a bunch of folks live. We're guessing that Rick's neighbors operate something like those goofs, only they're probably not as funny.

>> In related "news" (is this stuff news?), a top secret, locals only indoor park is said to be opening in rain-soaked Vancouver, BC, Canada. Crailstaff are heading up there this weekend to confirm or deny it's existence

>> This crap just came in via press release:
"[EXTREME BRAND NAME CENSORED BY CRAILTAP] SETS FOR LAUNCH OF MODIFIERS CAR COLLECTIBLES... New Line of 1/43 Scale Die Cast Collectibles Includes Today's Hottest Car Brands And Features Interchangeable Parts For Limitless Car Creations..."

What are we, STANCE? Quit sending us this crap.

PAST ENTRY> NOVEMBER 28, 2001

>> FRONT PAGE NEWS (two pages in):
Liam
(frontman for the upcoming rock group PREMIUM) stopped in early today to wish us all a happy holiday season. He's starting out on his second North American tour soon and will be playing a show every night up until Christmas eve when he'll be taking the night off in NYC to "Say hello to a few of my lady friends there, if you know what I'm sayin'. YEAH!"

>> US: Have you checked out the video clips from the Barge's docking in Phoenix yet?
YOU:"Sweet mother of god, nobody ever tells me ANYthing... I didn't even know there WERE clips."

PAST ENTRY> NOVEMBER 27, 2001

>> "After turning pro at age 14, he staked his claim as the greatest freestylist ever, winning nearly every competition with his extreme escapades... the big-screen version of Hawk's life story will combine the classic Rocky-like underdog saga with the Fast Times at Ridgemont High skating culture.". Uh, okay.

>> Happy things (part three).

PAST ENTRY > NOVEMBER 26, 2001 : :

>> The Harsh Barge (not to be confused with 80's R&B sensation El Debarge) set sail from Arizona today and will be dropping anchor in El Paso for the night. No photos yet, but "we're hoping to get the piece of shit [digital camera] working today."

>> This makes us happy (part two).

PAST ENTRY > NOVEMBER 23, 2001 : :

>> "It's a video by the homies, for the homies... so chill out. This video is what skating is all about... fun!!! Nothing too serious except some skate footage."

You know what video we're talking about.

PAST ENTRY > NOVEMBER 21, 2001 : :

>> Arrrr! We caught a scurvy street pirate in the act haulin' a chesftul o' booty out o' the warehouse last yester's eve, matey's. We snapped a squinty shot o' the deck-swabbin' bastard while he was rufflin' around in the dark lookin' for 'is schooner so 'e could make fer a quick n slealthy getaway. In exchange for this act of blatant piratism, he'll be walking the plank o' the bloody barge come Friday, yah.

>> Harsh Cory from Catalina is in training for the upcoming tour.

>> Skateboards made out of bamboo are about to take the nation by storm. Just ask this man. There's rumblings of a new clay wheel factory opening somewhere in southern California, too.

>> Hey, imagine if you were stuck on a desert island and you only had one skateboard to last you your entire life. Let's say you had a ramp there for some reason, too. Would you hide your board somewhere safe and protect it with palm fronds to preserve it for special occasions or would you skate it every day because you had nothing else to do during your downtime from hunting for food and trying to think of a way off of the island? What would you do after the thing was unskateable? The answer is in the bamboo, friends. Bamboo.

PAST ENTRY > NOVEMBER 15, 2001 : :
