Q & A Section
From Alessandro,
Q: Smyth, I'm recovering from a hangover and just made myself a BELT (bacon egg lettuce tomato) sandwich (sammich). I was just wondering what's your go-to hangover sammich.
A: Hamburger sandwich is good. But I think only Casey Affleck calls them that. Gotta listen to your gut, and proximity. Just make sure it's wet, and close by. I want grease, mayo, sauce, and I want it now.—Smyth

Q: Mikemo, how do you feel when Reynolds say's "This kid is awesome" while pointing at your Royal ad.

From Dylan Gallaher,
Q: Sam Smyth, are there any people that you passed on that went pro or am on another team? And What did you see in Malto and Mo that made you want to put them on?
A: Yeah, did you see my world famous Top 5? Passed on some of skateboarding's best. As dumb as that may seem, no one's loosing any sleep over it. I picked up Sean and Mo because they skated the way they skate now, only smaller. You just take a chance and hope they grow. They also happen to be exceptional humans on top of their ability.—Smyth

Q: Carroll, it seems like you're always skating parking blocks by yourself during a session with several people. Usually you'll make a comment to the camera like "this sucks" or "I'm always doing this shit while everyone is actually skating." Why? I think you should skate with your friends more Mike.

From Ricardo,
Q: Who's idea was it to have the eight column layout?
A: I think the idea was to have a ton of shit on one page so you didn't have to click around to find something good. Crailtap has never sold advertising so the "page views" thing never mattered and we (and by "we" I mean Rob Abeyta Jr) thought it would be best to keep all of the content on the main page. Vince is gonna make a "fuck cancer" shirt! Q & A Section
From Timothy Savas,
Q: I was just wondering who played pick-up with Biebel against the Kings. Also, who won?
A: Pretty much balled it up at Arco Arena with the Girl/Choco Fam. The squad was me, C-Rob, Mike Mo and Vince Capaldi, Rick Howard, Mike Carroll, Kelly Bird, Brian Anderson, Brad Staba and my awesome friends Chad Lunsford and Tim McFerren. We played full court, full game. They made us jerseys with our names on the back, two reffs, scoreboard, and everything. Me, Mo, C-Rob Brian, and Chad were unfortunately the losers. But by far one of the most amazing days ever for all of us. New Poll. What will you be having?

Q & A Section
From JD,
Q: I was wondering if you could ask Malto a question for me about Beauty and the Beast 2. I dislocated my elbow last year skating and the elbow went back into place after a few minutes. Did Sean get surgery when it happened to him? It seemed serious that he missed the whole trip. I went and got an MRI when I dislocated mine and the doctor told me I was fine, I just wanted to compare what happened to Malto because mine still dislocates.
A: It didn't go back into place for like two hours 'till I got to the hospital. It didn't need surgery but it was all swollen and shit and I couldn't really move it so I was worthless. It sucked.-Malto

Q: For BA, I took a serious spill on my bike at age 8. I was never able to get over the resulting fear, thus precluding a pro BMX career. Have you developed any similar mental hurdles since your absolutely petrifying fall off the vert wall? Glad you're alive.
A: I haven't really developed any new fears necessarily. Just a better understanding of how much one should and should not drink while skating. I wasn't in a "blackout" but had enough beers to no longer feel the pain in my back. So I tried to skate. In the words of Mike Carroll, "I just didn't have my cat like skills." A: Considering you're from Afghanistan I would strongly urge you to visit Skateistan. My trip took me to Kabul. I found it to be enchanting because the people were gracious toward us, as skateboarders, showing eager curiosity and no hostility. The children who are affiliated with the skatistan.org group are passionate about skating in the sense that it is a truly fun escape from life. From Andrew,
Q: Questions for Staba. Being that you guys have the best graphics, would Hershel's attempts ever be considered a "miss" to you guys?
A: I like Hersh and he does get lucky once in awhile, but there's a very complicated process that goes into creating Skate Mental graphics. So long that if I tried to write it down it would begin to look like a chemistry textbook or 5,000 AA pamphlets taped together. If he ever wanted to do a graphic I'd entertain the idea. Q & A Section
From Andrew,
Q: In my opinion Mike Mo's switch is just as good as his regular. After he learned his regular basics did he spend more time on his switch tricks or regular tricks?
A: There were some days when I started skating where I'd only skate switch, all day. Push switch and only try switch tricks. And at that time I didn't know what was good or what was bad, I just thought it would be cool to learn how to skate both ways.--Mike Mo

Q & A Section
From Ada,
Q: Ty, I always wondered if Boulala and Greco were slated to have a joint part in Feedback? Were they just tagging along on the group trip to AZ or were they cut from the roster due to lack footage?
A: I wish they were slated to do parts! We did the final film trip to AZ and Vegas. They happened to b out in AZ so we picked them up and they tagged along for the rest of the trip. I remember Ali putting arnica in his hair because he thought it was hair jell. That trip was amazing!--Ty

New Contest. Where the Wild Things Ought To Be. Held in conjunction with We Love You So. The basic idea is for you to send in images, GIFs, videos, drawings, etc., inserting Wild Things artwork, clips, etc. into places that could use some "wilding-up." Best entry wins the complete Where the Wild Things Are board series. Hersh made some examples below:

During the run of the contest we'll periodically post links sending you to some of the gold the good folks of We Love You So habitually dig up.

And staying within the theme, Spike was recently interviewed in Vice Magazine.

Q & A Section
From Daniel,
Q: I'm heading to New York City in two weeks, any recommendations on a good sandwich joint Reda? Specifically that delicious looking piece of sandwich art recently featured on the Berrics. Damn that looks good!  I hope my Canadian stomach can handle it.
A: That spot from Wednesdays is in Astoria, Queens. That's a good one. Also go to Castillo de Jagua on Rivington and Essex in Manhattan for a good Cuban sandwich. If you feel lucky venture out to Mill Basin Brooklyn on Ave N and go to Landi's pork store for a hot capicola and provolone hero! Hmmmm! Hmm! Hm!--Reda

Malto Cover Contest Winner! For some reason something like 90% of you wanted to see Malto as a girl. I pretty telling statistic I'd say. So with those odds, it's no guess that the winner, Chris Bywater, put some mammaries on Malto. Famous ones, at that. Pre wardrobe malfunction, at that.

Here's a slideshow of some of the better entries.

And later next week we'll be having a new contest in conjunction with WeLoveYouSo where we'll be giving away these.

Mini Top 5 with Steve Nesser and that famous brother-in-law of his.

Q & A Section
From Brandon Lindquist,
Q: In Alex Olson's Fully Flared intro montage, there is a quick clip of what looks like Alex peeing a good foot over his head. I find that to be impossible. A few friends and I try to see how high we can pee all the time and we barely get nipple height. Does he have a narrow urethra? Is he really peeing?
A: Yeah it's really piss. Just drink a lot of water and wait till you can't hold it anymore. Then "Push it/Push it really good."--Alex Olson

A: I've been shooting 6X7 for three years now. I'm way into it. The sharpness and detail it gives me is all I could ever want. I had a few photos in the last Thrasher Photo Issue, and here's a couple from this year's Beast.--Smyth
